about the artist,… Jack Anglin (John Henry) has almost always painted and sketched, and made a living as a young man working on the east coast and in California & Las Vegas painting portraits. He began working more seriously as a fine artist in 1993 and since has created many successful portraits and a large array of landscapes and seascapes, competing and winning in various shows and competitions, while also developing many great relationships with galleries and patrons, also teaching and mentoring painting. Nocturnes are of interest to him, as are marine subjects and plein aire works, but Jack is a very balanced artist and not limited to just one or two genres and has energy for many subjects, styles, and techniques. He is a artist who appreciates and understands art history, knowing the stories and development of art throughout the centuries, and the biographies of many great artists. Besides his fine art paintings and portraits, Jack appreciates the amazing advances we've made with photography and digital media and he continues to grow and evolve as an artist utilizing technology. From an early age he employed modern developments when appropriate, and learned as much about various art techniques, adapting and developing, while embracing traditional painting methods. That all makes the portrait process easier on subjects, however, working from life and having subjects pose in the formal manner for a portrait is the most fun and challenging thing for an artist and painter, so he hopes to have many more of those kind of opportunities --perhaps with you! It is a pleasure to paint, and an honor to be commissioned and entrusted to make a painting that has meaning as a special commission or a portrait. Jack strives to make the entire experience of having a portrait made,... one of the most enjoyable and thrilling experiences for patrons and their families. “Satisfaction is not just guaranteed,... I plan on it!” This artist applies himself one hundred percent to all his work, so satisfaction will continue with his patrons long after the work of art is unveiled, is presented, and is hanging in a place of honor in a home or business.
Jack Anglin considers it to be a great honor and a very special gift from clients, to have his work of art become a part of their lives. The satisfaction Jack hopes and plans for will last a lifetime and extend into future generations.
